Video conferencing in the age of COVID-19
The sudden shift to remote work and remote learning has dramatically increased the demand for video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype. But more than eight months into the quarantine (and with no real end in sight yet), there's still a lot of unknowns about the impact of video chats on students and workers.

In October 2020, Reach3 Insights conducted an in-depth study to explore shifting user behaviors and attitudes in regards to video conferencing.

Using Rival's market research platform and leveraging our conversational, mobile messaging-based approach, we engaged 521 users to learn:

  • What new habits—both good and bad—have emerged as a result of video conferencing?
  • Why is Zoom fatigue so prevalent, and which users are more likely to suffer from it?
  • How are people using video chats to stay close with friends and family?
